Before you get started, take a minute to read this brief overview of how everything works and what features are available on the site. Of course, if you'd prefer to explore on your own, be our guest. You can always refer back to this by clicking Help at the bottom of any page.

Whether you're here to share your work with the world, keep track of your favorite Artists, or buy some new art, we've done our best to make imitatelife as intuitive and simple to navigate as possible. The list below describes the major features of the site and how to use them:

Home offers a quick overview of the site. Here you'll see artwork for sale, popular art and Artists, and a couple of random Artists that you might find intriguing.

Find Art helps you do precisely that. Go here to search for art and Artists by title, style, Artist's name, inspiration, or the Artist's own description of the item. If a piece of art catches your eye, click on it to view the detail page. You can tell the Artist that you're impressed by clicking "I like this piece of art!". And, if you want to find out more, simply click on their picture or name to see their profile. Once you're there, you can leave comments, send direct messages, or start following the Artist to receive updates on the their activity.

My Gallery is the key to your world on imitatelife; this is where you manage your account, edit personal information, and upload all your artwork and photos. My Gallery contains the following options:

Add Art -- to upload images of your artistic creations -- for free. You can upload your artwork for sale or just for fun. If you intend to sell on our site, make sure you read "Selling on imitatelife". Anything you upload here can be found on Home, Find Art, and in the Search Results.

Orders -- Congratulations! If you see this button, you've sold a piece of art. Click it to see the details.

People takes you to a list of your friends, followers, and followings, so you can have quick access to everyone's profile. Since you're are new to imitatelife, you won't see this yet. soooooooo.... get out there and mingle :)

We know how difficult it can be to sell your work online, so we've tried to make it as simple as possible. To begin selling, all you need is an active PayPal®; account. When someone buys one of your items, both yours and the buyer's PayPal® email addresses are sent to PayPal®. The buyer then deposits money directly into your account equal to the sales price plus shipping cost that you have listed. Once you receive the funds, you must ship the purchased item to the mailing address provided by the buyer. On the 1st and 15th days of every month, you will receive an electronic bill for 6.5% of your sales since the last bill was sent. To read a detailed description of the transaction process, refer to our Terms of Service; under Sales Agreement.

If you see something on imitatelife that you want to purchase, first, pat yourself on the back! You're about to help another Artist pay the rent. Plus, your home or office is about to be that much more attractive. All you need for purchasing artwork is an active PayPal®; account. Select the item that you want, and click Add to Cart. The Cart button will magically appear, and you can continue adding items until you're ready to check out. When you're ready, click the Cart button to review your order. If everything is to your liking, click Check Out to purchase your new piece of Art. Click on the PayPal® button, sign in, and deposit the amount owed into the Artist's account. Upon payment, the Artist receives immediate email notification, and will begin packaging your artwork for shipment.
